I have long looked forward to the iPaX2010 in Viechtach, now it was finally the day. Peter and I arrived on Friday afternoon and took a short walk through Viechtach. Then, with the help of Siegfried Zademack, we finally found Daniela Wolter and the four of us went on a sightseeing tour again before going to the opening.
There is a detailed report on Phantastisch! about the opening. Therefore I will confine myself here to my personal impressions, which were simply amazing – a great event, great art, lots of nice conversations with fellow artists and party ’til the morning (it was incredibly funny there in the rain with Daniela, Leo Plaw and Michael Maschka under the canopy before Old Town Hall … ). I want to say again that it’s great, how very Viechtach stands behind the fantastic art.
On saturday we all met for an artists brunch at the Isis-Bar with Reinhard und Karin. I would recommend not to miss a breakfast at the Isis to everybody who stays in Viechtach. It is simply … fantastic! I have never been so lovingly served up yogurt with fruit as here, everything down to the smallest detail was perfect! We had interesting discussions, Christian Klepsch told much of his life, which I found very exciting.
After warm passings Peter and I visited the “Gläserne Scheune” which impressed us deeply. The same holds true for Reinhard’s parents – many thanks for the nice conversation! Back at the Isis, we marveled at the “Gewölbe der Geheimnisse” with Reinhards beautiful glass tarot cards before we met Reinhard for a very nice and extensive talk while having delicious cake and tea. Both the “Gläserne Scheune” and the “Gewölbe der Geheimnisse” should not be missing in any Viechtach visit!
It was a really great weekend and I’m looking forward to seeing again at the 1st Biennale of Fantastic Art in Viechtach in September!
